Be Proud to Be an OutCast

Do you remember when we were young? We wouldn’t care about anything. We could have mucus on our face, and spaghetti spread around our mouth, we were laughing about the silliest things. We had missing teeth, and we did not care nor give a single eff about what people would think about us.

Suddenly, everything changed around us. People changed. We started pointing, assessing, acknowledging differences, accepting, or refusing whatever was not “worthy” of our comfort zone. Our laughter became a mockery, and what people think of us became one of our number one priority. Our appearance from head to toe to our way of thinking became a matter of algebra: “If I think like her and mix it up a bit of what society thinks then I am with her, but I am also with society. I will not speak my mind because I do not want people to ridicule me, but what she said is right, and the other one is just saying crap. Let me retweet, re-gram, re-blog, re “re,” so that I am part of the movement without being part of the change.” Are you still following me?

Somehow, society forged us into someone or something, and we did not have time to realize that it was taking our differences away. Aren’t we encouraging liberty of expression, and acceptance of who you are, yet in some twisted way, when we show something different AND against what society in general as in mind, we are outcasts? It is as if there are ten distinct groups out there, and you have to find the one in which you are going to fit the most.

Well, here is what I am telling you. Do not let yourself fall into the traps of the world and forget who you are. We all have a purpose and a race to follow to achieve whatever we were put on Earth to do (boy that sentence though...). You are not alone, You are not a failure, You are not an outcast (...), and yes you are perfectly and wonderfully made.

Be proud to stand up for what you believe in, be proud to show off your colors and skills. Be proud to affirm your identity, be happy to show the new set of clothes you bought yesterday that half of the world finds disgusting, but you find beautiful. Do not let anyone judge you because you are a fan of Pokemon, or One Direction, or Nickelback or whatever. My point is: BE YOU! and show it off to a society that molds us into their perspective. You are a beautiful munchkin, and you ought to the world to be your unique self.
